Schools out for summer….

With the summer holidays fast approaching I’ve been looking up ideas of things to do with the kids over the holidays. We always go out and about and there are plenty of things and places to go that don’t cost much if anything. The beach is always a winner with our boys , pack up a picnic a few toys and away you go. Another winner is Streamvale farm or Rose park farm and last year we went to The Ark open farm which they loved. Antrim castle gardens is great and we would go up there every week or every other week. The gardens are lovely and the boys can cycle all the way from castle gardens into the Lough. Or they so love the jcb park at the junction it’s only £1 and they can drive round on the ride on tractors go in the sand or in the park. They also enjoy a day down to picky park in Bangor. Another great place we would go to regularly is Carnfunnock park in larne. We always park at Drains Bay and walk over, the boys love walking over the rocks and collecting stones. The park is great and there are also trampolines,a train, bouncy castle, crazy golf and lots more. It has lovely gardens and walks and plenty of picnic or BBQ areas. Another place I would like to go over the summer which we haven’t been to before is Eden pottery in Newtonards. I think the boys would love to make their own piece of pottery.

So I have looked up a few what’s on guides and have found a few events that I think sound like fun , are family friendly and don’t cost a fortune if anything at all. The first is mid to east antrim borough council. Click here to find more details and events.
